Unique, fleeting and so diverse. Sometimes gentle in soft red tones. Sometimes the sky seems to be on fire. Sunsets are first class natural spectacles. In the Jungfrau region they are particularly beautiful, because nowhere else is the incomparable view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau added free of charge.
The earned one: Faulhorn
At 2,681 m above sea level, the day ends in a particularly impressive manner. Sunset on the Faulhorn must first of all earned with a foot march, but the reward is all the more generous. A mountain view of the Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Eiger and Jungfrau, to name but a few of the impressive peaks. A valley view to Lake Thun and the Lake Brienz, with visibility as far as France. The sunset far behind Lake Thun is the icing on the cake. In order to avoid a subsequent night hike, an overnight stay at the Berghaus Faulhorn or the Berggasthaus First is an option. This is because the first Railway no longer operates at this time.
The comfortable one: Harder Kulm
Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, Interlaken and the world famous triumvirate of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau – bathed in a warm evening light. On the Harder Kulm, the sun goes down and the heart rises. The unique combination of a breathtaking view and convenient accessibility is only available here. The Harder Railway transports romantics of all kinds every evening in time for the sunset. And then back to Interlaken within ten minutes.
The down-to-earth one: Iseltwald
In the idyllic fishing bay of Iseltwald, the only village on the left bank of Lake Brienz, you can enjoy the sunset right on the water. Listen to the gentle waves of the lake and watch as the sun slowly fades away with a magnificent palette of colours over Interlaken and the Harder Kulm. It is not only romantics who will have their hearts warmed.
