The locals have it good. They just need to cross the Aare bridge at Interlaken Ost station, and they’ll find themselves at the Harder Railway valley station. And almost on their home mountain, the Harder. Ten minutes away by train are the mountain station Harder Kulm, the views of the lakes, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, and numerous hiking trails. Guests should not miss out on this. But there’s no need to hurry. The waiting time for the next train (half-hourly) can be spent wonderfully at the valley station: watching ibexes and marmots in the Alpine Wildlife Park.
